Read MoreWHEN CONFUSION REIGNS
As you can see by the picture, confusion is not a good look for me. Even 20 years ago, I didn’t like it. And neither does my sweet hubby. My husband is wonderful—but he sees no reason that decisions cannot be made in an orderly fashion within a reasonable amount of time. “And why can’t we plan for the future in order to meet our needs?” he asks. This amazing man has kept us afloat in good times and bad, and I’m so thankful for this part of his nature. However, with a young family, confusion was inevitable sometimes. But when confusion reigned…he balked.
Read MoreBECAUSE I SAID SO
Our girls were PK’s—pastor’s kids—for fourteen years of their growing-up years. Trina was eight and Emily was five when we accepted our first call to ministry. The church in which we served was a part of a conservative, northern-Indiana community. We tried hard to say “yes” to our girls whenever possible. It’s much more fun to say “yes” as a parent, isn’t it? But on those occasions when we had to say “no,” we tried not to use that despicable excuse, “…because your Dad is the pastor.” Unfortunately, as our girls grew into those teenage years, they developed a hearing impairment called PK-itis, which makes all rules sound as if they’re somehow related to their father’s profession.

Alas, no 1-800-GOD direct line to heaven. Instead, we’re called to seek Him and promised that He’ll be found by us (Jer. 29:13). I can testify that this seeking-finding system also works.
Read MorePAUL—GOING VIRAL
Are you familiar with the phrase going viral? I’m not talking about the swine flu or some other icky illness. Going viral is a techy-generation term referring to social network marketing on sites like Facebook, Twitter, etc. But going viral can also include word-of-mouth publicity—describing any product or concept that is taking our society by storm.

Review by LifeWay Fiction Buyer, Rachel McRae…
I just finished reading Love’s Sacred Song by Mesu Andrews and I’m utterly devastated. I now have to wait another year before I get a new novel from one of my favorite authors. This is Mesu’s second book and I can wholeheartedly say that there is no sophomore slump here.
Read MoreTell Me a Story
One of the greatest challenges for any writer is a little concept called, “Show! Don’t tell!” If editors and agents were paid a dime for each time they corrected it, I’m guessing many of them would be retired by now! As a reader, you might not notice it—until you read a book that told you things rather than describing them. Here’s an example:
